Black Lives Matter
George Floyd's death was recorded on a phone belonging to a brave 17 year old, and once viewed, the public's anguish exploded in necessary action. I attended several protests in the Greater Boston area. I went as an ally, but first as the mother of Black children, aunt to Black children and as a member of an extended mixed race family. I went in solidarity to demand that Black lives matter too, and should be valued and respected. I went to demand that police across the country be held accountable for their actions, should cease racist practices and be held to the same standards of the law as civilians. The photos I took during these events are intended to highlight the beautiful people I met along the way, some friends, some strangers, and hope will help counter any potential negativity by the media that tends to occur toward Black people at such times.
